In case I haven’t said it lately, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Pinterest!!! Where else can you learn how to tie-dye a shirt, make a fat-free milkshake, and put together the perfect birthday party for a toddler all in one place? Not to mention, it gives you a chance to explore blogs that you would have never stumbled upon otherwise. I have found TONS of awesome blogs, and keep finding them on a daily basis! Did I mention I LOVE Pinterest?
With that being said, the following are my top 5 favorite DIY/Craft ideas I have found. Check out these awesome blogs!
Writings on the Wall – Crayon art has become very popular over the last couple years. The brilliant people at Dilly-Dali Art have added their own unique twist by adding initials using painter’s tape…GENIUS!
Bookalicious - Want a FREE way to spruce up a wall? Pull out those books you swore you were going to read 10 years ago (but never got around to it), and put them to good use! Run a few book pages through a printer using clip-art or silhouette images, and pop them into picture frames. For an eclectic look, use mismatched frames and for a pop of color, paint wooden frames in brightly colored paint. The creator of this lovely display at VIPpins.com used nice straight lined frames to give it a modern, yet retro look.
Another excuse to buy shoes – What an awesome idea!!! By the look of this awesome wall decor, I would have never guessed it was created with just a few simple supplies, including: shoebox lids, scrapbook paper, ribbon, and a curtain rod. The great thing about this one is, as long as you have extra shoebox lids, these lovely letters can be changed out as many times as you want, with different themes & colors. The awesome people over at Dittle Dattle definitely got this one right!
Pop-art – Here’s another free/cheap wall decor idea from (art) i_choke+. With some cardstock, tape, and paper mache’, the sky is the limit on what you can create! I love how she uses old sheet music to create this whimsical heart!
A Warm Welcome – I am absolutely in LOVE with the awesome wreath creations at Teach.Craft.Love. These Front Door wreaths are simple, yet elegant, and if the task of recreating one of these lovelies seems impossible, they can be purchased from her blog!! With that being said, you now have no excuse for not having one of these great wreaths hanging from your front door!
